MCAT Exam
(One-on-one Instruction)

The MCAT assesses mastery of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics; facility with scientific problem solving and critical thinking; and writing skills.

The MCAT exam lasts 5 hours, 45 minutes.

Efficient pacing is essential for success.

Verbal Reasoning includes 65 questions in 85 minutes. The verbal section includes 9 reading comprehension passages.

Physical Sciences includes 77 questions in 100 minutes. Most questions are organized into groups, each preceded by a descriptive passage.

Biological Sciences includes 77 questions in 100 minutes. This test, like the Physical Sciences test, organizes most questions into groups that follow a descriptive passage.

Writing Sample includes 2 questions in 60 minutes written in response to a prompt.

     

 

Instruction at Focus on Learning Center

We offer one-on-one instruction.  You will work with 4 subject specialists who have been trained as MCAT coaches.  The number of hours will vary depending on your

  •    Previous score
  •    Goal score

A minimum of 4-hours per subject area is a recommended.

Program Cost:
  •    Workbook-binder  $45.00
  •    Three authentic MCAT tests from the Association of American Medical Colleges at $40.00 each.  You are also encouraged to
        take additional tests on-line.
  •    One-on-one instruction    $70.00/hr
                                           ($85.00/hr for Dr. Chippendale and Dr. Moss)
