College Preparatory Exams
ACT Test (Taken Junior or Senior year)
- The
most frequently taken test in the Midwest. The ACT
is also accepted by most Western colleges and is gaining
greater acceptance among East Coast schools.
- The
test includes four sections: English, Math, Reading
Comprehension, and Science. It is more curriculum
based than the SAT. The writing section is
optional.
- The
score range is 1-36, and the average score in Missouri
is just over 21. The University of Missouri requires
a 25.
- Students
who earn a 30 or higher receive a $2000 / year Bright
Flight Scholarship to any school in Missouri.
- Students
with IEP's or 504 Plans may take extended-time tests.
Check with your school counselor about which tests will
allow extended time
- Students also
receive other scholarships for high scores including the
Mizzou Excellence Scholarship: $2000/yr for 27+ & top 25% of class
- The higher the ACT score, the larger the scholarship.
Bright Flight Academy
$625 (15 hrs) Guaranteed Class
Designed for
high-scoring
students who have previously scored a 29 or 30 and are
aiming for Bright Flight.
A
Bright Flight Scholarship awards students $2000 per year for
up to five years.
Guarantee: Students who enroll with a 29 or 30 may choose between receiving a half-refund or retaking the class if they do not score a 31. The conditions of the guarantee are that students must attend all class sessions, complete all homework assignments, and take the subsequent test. We regret that there are no make-up days or refunds for missed classes.

ACT Super Class
$625 (24 hrs)
Guaranteed Class
A fast-paced class for students who want more practice applying
strategies. It includes a full-length practice test the Saturday
before the ACT and a final review.
Guarantee: Students who do not gain 2 points may retake the class at no cost. To be eligible for the guarantee, students must attend all classes, complete all homework, and take subsequent ACT test.

Regular Class

Provides a comprehensive overview of all four subject areas and includes content review and practice. There is minimal homework and this class does not offer a guarantee. Taught by experienced ACT coaches.

Full Year Schedule
WRITING SECTION
The ACT test has added a new section, the writing section, which consists of one essay that is graded separately from a student's composite score.
This year we will be holding an optional $75 writing session for all students interested in improving and/or practicing ACT essay writing.
The dates of these optional sessions are listed with the class you choose to sign up for.
We regret that we will not offer make-up sessions for missed classes.
Call
573-875-5187 to enroll. Our students raise their scores
by 2-6 points. Individual tutoring is also available.
