Teaches students to study smarter; this unique class includes
organization, note taking, test taking, and comprehension skills, and
applies them to grade-appropriate English, science, social studies, and
math classes. This comprehensive, hands-on class teaches skills and
provides students multiple opportunities to apply them to specific
content areas. Students receive planners, notebooks, and folders and
learn to organize them. They practice taking notes, developing study
guides for tests, and learning strategies for multiple choice and essay
tests. Students will also work on strategies for improving
comprehension.

Speed Reading

Teaches strategies for doubling one’s reading rate and improving
comprehension.
Many
college-bound students have a reading rate between 180-220 w.p.m. when
they should have a base rate between 400-600 w.p.m. This class shows
students how to become proficient and effective readers by varying their
reading rates according to the purpose for reading and textual demands.
Students practice by using a wide range of materials.

For high-achieving students vying for the prestigious Merit

math tests. Students will take multiple practice tests at home.

ACT Math Review
(10-12)
Presents the major topics included on the ACT math test and provides
plenty of practice using problems from past tests. For students who fear
the ACT math section because they lack the necessary background.

class is intended for students who need and want more practice in math
than is available in the standard ACT preparatory classes. The
comprehensive math review is valuable for both the ACT and school math
classes.

Our most comprehensive and guaranteed ACT prep class that includes a
full-length practice test and post-test review.
This class
includes a comprehensive review of the English grammar and punctuation
and math found on the test. Students set their target scores and work
to achieve them using workbooks and 4-5 ACT practice tests. Student
who do not gain two points receive an additional class for free.
